I enjoyed my stay at Pelham House, particularly the excellent service and the beautiful dining area. However, the room had some issues, including a lack of attention to detail and noise disturbances from the corridors, which affected my overall experience. The hotel has great potential and lovely views, but some improvements are definitely needed.

The room was clean and well-appointed with a comfortable bed, but it lacked attention to detail, such as cleaning issues and noise from the corridors.

My stay at Pelham House was a mixed experience. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Lewes, and the friendly staff were always willing to help. However, I encountered several issues with my room, including noise disturbances and a lack of cleanliness that detracted from my overall experience.

Rooms
5.0
I stayed in a room at the top of the house which had several problems. The sheets were frayed, the bathroom was dirty and tiny with a stuck plug, and the carpet showed stains. The noise from the function room and adjacent bathroom activities made it hard to get a good night's sleep.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly and courteous, but there seemed to be a disconnect at the reception. They were a bit defensive when I raised my concerns about my stay, which felt off-putting.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station and close to everything in Lewes. This convenience is definitely a highlight of my stay.
Dining
8.0
Dining was a bright spot during my stay. The breakfast was excellent, with delicious options and attentive service that made for a lovely start to the day.
Facilities
5.0
While they did offer some amenities, the lack of effective housekeeping and maintenance in my room was disappointing. I expected better for the price.

I had a good experience at Pelham House in Lewes, thanks to its charming traditional atmosphere and excellent staff. The dining experience was particularly enjoyable, though I felt the continental breakfast could have offered more variety. The location is perfect for exploring the town, but I did encounter some minor issues in my room.

Rooms
8.0
My room was very tastefully decorated, featuring a huge bed and an impressive bathroom with a roll-top bath. However, low ceilings in the attic room were something I had to watch out for.
Service
10.0
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, catering to every need I had, which truly enhanced my stay.
Location
9.0
I loved the central location, making it easy to explore Lewes and being just a short walk from the train station.
Dining
7.0
Dinner in the beautifully wood-panelled dining room was excellent, but the breakfast was a bit simple and could have benefited from more hot options.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had free fast WiFi, though parking was quite limited, which might be an issue for some.

My stay at Pelham House was a mixed bag. The room I had was cozy but smaller than I expected, and I was disappointed by the breakfast options. However, the staff were friendly and accommodating, which added a nice touch to the experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room felt a bit snug and had a king bed with only a shower in the en-suite, but it was clean and tidy.
Service
5.0
While most of the staff were courteous, my experience with the management when addressing a serious issue was far from satisfactory.
Location
8.0
Pelham House is conveniently located for exploring Lewes, which I appreciated during my visit.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast options were limited, and despite the buffet style, I expected a more varied hot food selection.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had a charming atmosphere typical of a historic building, but my experience with the housekeeping standards was a concern.

5.2/10

My stay at Pelham House had its ups and downs. The character of the hotel and friendly staff stood out, yet some service hiccups and a lack of attention to detail left me somewhat frustrated. Overall, it’s a place with potential, though I hope for improvements in management and training to enhance the experience.

Rooms
6.0
I stayed in a spacious attic room with lovely views, although maneuvering my bags up two flights of stairs was a challenge. The cleanliness was commendable, but noise, like a thumping door at 8am, broke the peace.
Service
5.0
The staff were always friendly and did their best to help, but I noticed inconsistencies in their training. For instance, I felt uncomfortable during breakfast when my bill was awkwardly demanded in public.
Location
8.0
Pelham House is ideally situated in Lewes, making it easy to explore the charming town and nearby attractions. The views from my room were beautiful, overlooking the South Downs.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was enjoyable, with a solid variety of options. However, given the restaurant's price point, I anticipated a more robust cooked breakfast experience.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel has some appealing features, but I found the lack of parking and the absence of customer service focus in areas like fire alarm handling to be disappointing.
